Zenith bank staff has cried out after the bank issued a new directive on coronavirus.
In a directive signed by Dennis Olisa, the Executive director of the bank, bankers are supposed to resume work as usual and customers are allowed into the bank in 5s. And Every staff at Teller Point, Customer service posts and security posts must perform their duties wearing – face masks, hand gloves as well as constant use of hand sanitizers.
Speaking to Kemi Filani News on condition of anonymity, one of the staff said: ” Bankers cannot continue like this,we are on serious risk ooo, cases of infected people going to banks is just so rampant but still the management is saying customers should come in , in 5s ,is that the solution? woke up feeling like I have malaria but still going to work. You know I will be fine “

In our continued response to the Covid – 19 pandemic,
Executive Management hereby directs as follows:
- All Cash & Teller, Customer Service officers and All
Funds Transfer Staff should resume work as usual tomorrow, March 24, 2020.
There should not be alternate work teams in these
- All other Staff in the Branches/Departments/Groups of the
Bank should maintain our earlier directive of coming to work on alternate weeks
until further notice.
Every staff at Teller Point, Customer service posts and
security posts must perform their duties wearing – face masks, hand gloves as
well as constant use of hand sanitizers. They all
must imbibe proper hygiene practices in the form of constant
hand washing and effective social distancing whilst at work.
- All Branch heads are also advised to continue to insist
on everyone adhering to best hygiene standards whilst working in the Bank.
Alcohol base hand sanitizers, water and soap must
be provided daily in adequate quantity for the safety and
well-being of all staff and customers.
- All Branches are hereby enjoined to put in place proper
customer management and help maintain orderliness within and around all our

members or close associates who have just returned from any of the Covid – 19
endemic countries as well as the 13 countries
from where the Federal Government has barred travelers from
entering Nigeria, MUST isolate themselves for the recommended 14 days. This
should be done under advice to the
Head of Human Resources Group.

health, safety and well-being at all times.
